As part of the city’s ongoing efforts to spread the word about home composting, Sunnyvale residents will have a chance this weekend to learn from master composters.
The UC Cooperative Extension Composting Education Program will host the Home Composting Class at Sunnyvale’s Murphy Park Building, 250 N. Sunnyvale Ave., on Saturday, October 12.
The workshop will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This class will teach residents the basics of composting, including how to build compost piles and worm bins. Attendees will also learn how to apply the compost in their own landscapes and gardens.
Sunnyvale residents who attend can purchase their own compost bin following the class.
