Sustainable home electricity expo coming to San Jose

With its tagline “Healthier Home, Healthier Planet, Healthier You,” a major expo this weekend in San Jose is focused on sharing a message of sustainability for local residents.

The Bay Area Home Electrification Expo, set for Saturday, October 12, in San Jose, plans to show the benefits of switching from fossil fuel-generated electricity to renewable sources in transportation, cooking, heating, and more.

Attendees will hear from clean energy leaders about changes they can make at home to improve sustainability, what rebates exist to cut implementation costs, and talk directly to manufacturers about what technologies exist in the marketplace.

The City of San Jose’s Environmental Services organized the event, which is working under the City’s ‘Climate Smart San Jose’ plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and water usage.

This expo begins at 10 a.m. for those who have already registered, and sessions and the resource fair for those walking in begin at 1:15 p.m. The event runs until 4 p.m.

San Jose’s Tech Interactive, 201 S Market St., and the neighboring New Venture Hall, will host the event.
