About

My name is Phil Siegel and I am the Publisher of the Cupertino Today.

As a longtime news junkie, I have been keenly interested in the Bay Area media landscape, but the lack of local, community coverage in Cupertino piqued my interest.

Tech headlines pour out of Cupertino, but the place that has been defined to most of the outside world as “Apple Town” — and has little other outward identity — is far more interesting than is reported. I started Cupertino Today to change that.

For the past 30 years, I have worked throughout the Bay Area as a communicator, searching for the right mix of news and human-interest stories. Now I am working to cover the people, companies (small and large), events and innovations in Cupertino so community members can stay up-to-date with the news that is happening in their neighborhood.

My favorite part of writing about Cupertino are the many events that bring community members together. Send me your tips about exciting local happenings at newstips@cupertinotoday.com.
