The City of Cupertino is hosting a free Emergency Preparedness Workshop on Jan. 12 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at City Hall, 10300 Torre Avenue.
The three-hour class is designed to teach individuals how to prepare in the event of an emergency, in or outside of your home.
Basic safety skills will be taught during the class, such as when and how to turn off the gas, how to use a fire extinguisher, and what to do when phones don’t work.
Attendees will also learn what kind of supplies are necessary in the event of an earthquake, what medical aid is needed for the first five minutes after the event, and the City’s plan in an emergency situation.
If you are interested in attending, contact Ken E. at KennethE@cupertino.org or call 408-777-3176.
