Students in grades 4-6 can participate in local Spelling Bee

The second annual spelling contest is set to take place on Jan. 12.The second annual spelling contest is set to take place on Jan. 12.

Cupertino Recreation and Community Services will host a Spelling Bee on Jan. 12 in Community Hall for students in grades 4-6.

The spelling contest will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Registration is still open and there are 21 spots available. The cost to participate is $10 and only Cupertino students can participate.

Audience members will be asked to pay a separate $5 fee to attend or donate a food item on the day of the event to West Valley Community Services.

This event is not affiliated with the National Scripps Spelling Bee. Community Hall is located at the Cupertino Civic Centers, 10350 Torre Ave.
