The City of Cupertino will host the 19th Annual Diwali-Festival of Lights this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m at Memorial Park.
The multicultural event is celebrated on the autumnal new moon – usually in October or early November. Diwali is a traditional Indian festival of thanksgiving and represents the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, hope over despair, and good over evil.
Festivities at this year’s event will include Indian food, music and Bollywood dance, including a traditional Rangoli display. There will also be arts and crafts booths as well as a Kids Zone.
Admission is free, and parking is on a first-come-first-serve basis at De Anza College Lots A and B.
