Cupertino hosting community event on mental health

COVID-19 has led to numerous challenges for people in the West Valley, across the country, and around the world. One aspect not to be overlooked is the mental health toll.

Cupertino is facing the issue head on with a new forum scheduled for this week. The city is collaborating with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) for the event.

Titled “In Our Own Voice,” NAMI regularly provides this type of presentation for communities through the United States. Presenters at the event will share their own personal experiences with mental health challenges.

According to organizers, the event will feature “open and honest perspectives on a highly misunderstood topic.”

Attendees can ask questions at the event to dispel stereotypes and misconceptions. It will also help outline enriching lives through goal-oriented planning. NAMI will also provide resources for learning more about mental health.

The event is set for Thursday, October 22, beginning at 6 p.m.
