Learn to curl at Sunnyvale ice rink

Following the recent opening of the new seasonal ice rink in Downtown Sunnyvale, the city has been the hub of a number of holiday activities, including the holiday celebration and tree lighting.

The rink is also offering a unique opportunity for West Valley residents: the chance to learn how to curl. Sessions are underway to teach skills for the sport, which has a fabled Olympic history, with lessons occurring each Saturday morning through the end of the season, after starting earlier this month.

The one-hour sessions run from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and start at $25 per person. Check in time for the lessons is 9:15 a.m.

As of press time, sessions on December 21st are sold out, but sessions on December 28, as well as each Saturday in January, are still open. According to organizers, reservations open one week prior to each date.
