Coding workshop for local girls set for Saturday

With the importance of preparing students for the workforce needs of the future, there is an increasing focus on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education and training.

In that context, a local organization is hosting an event this weekend aimed at expanding the STEM skills of West Valley girls. Kuriosity Robotics will run a SmartGurlz robots workshop on Saturday, November 16, hoping to get girls ages 7-14 interested engineering skills and robotics.

Organizers ask that attendees download the ‘Sugar Coded’ app in advance to help facility the activities of the day. Kuriosity Robotics has hosted a number of these SmartGurlz workshops in the past, at locations across the West Valley.

This Saturday’s event is set for 1:30 to 3 p.m. at 830 Stewart Dr. in Sunnyvale. To see more information, or to sign up for the free workshop, click here.
