Cupertino to host emergency prep workshop

Fire season is rapidly approaching, and we know that our region is at constant risk of earthquakes large and small. To help residents prepare for any emergency or disaster situation, Cupertino officials are offering a free workshop this week.

Cupertino’s session, similar to those held by other cities in our region in recent months, is free to attend.

The session will run from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, August 23 at City Hall, 10300 Torre Ave.

Attendees will learn how to prepare for emergencies and disasters, including developing emergency plans, how and when to turn off natural gas, fire extinguisher use, and an overview of the City’s emergency plan.

Additionally, some basic first aid will be covered as emergency crews might not be able to get to injured individuals for extended periods of time following a disaster.
