A Cupertino woman died in Yosemite National Park on Sunday, according to park officials.

Xuan Wang, 56, was hit by falling rock and ice on a closed trail called “Mist Trail” and died shortly after, according to a statement from park officials.

Park officials said, “Wang ignored the signs, went around the gate and the incident happened on the trail leading to Vernal Fall.”

Her death is under investigation and no further information will be released until after the investigation wraps up.
