Rotary Club Cupertino 28th Annual Golf Classic, May 1

The Rotary Club of Cupertino is hosting its 28th Annual Golf Classic fundraising event on Saturday, May 1. The annual event will benefit the Girl Scouts of Northern California who will receive $15,000 to support much needed specific renovation for Camp Hidden Falls in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

The Girls Scouts’ primary resident camp location was damaged by the CZU Lightning Complex fire last year and the non-profit was compelled to move its activities to the neighboring Camp Hidden Falls. Proceeds of the event will support the remodel of the kitchen which needs significant work to host potential resident camps in the future.  Funds go towards replacing the refrigeration units and purchasing appropriate cookware for outdoor cooking, and will support a primitive camping program this summer.

“Summer camp is an important part of how Girl Scouts builds girls’ sense of sisterhood, confidence, and belonging. We’re thrilled to partner with the Cupertino Rotary to prepare Hidden Falls for summer camp programs,” said Marina H. Park, CEO, Girl Scouts of Northern California.

“Rotary Cupertino and the Girl Scouts of Northern California share a common mission in supporting our youth,” said Padma Chari, Committee Chair and past president, Cupertino Rotary.  “We are pleased to support ongoing renovation projects as we believe education, spirit and fellowship are key elements for our youth and their future,” she added.

The 28th Annual Golf Classic will take place Saturday, May 1 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Deep Cliff Golf Course in Cupertino.
