Businesses must file updated social distancing protocols by Oct. 28

With Santa Clara County entering California’s ‘Orange Tier’ for COVID-19 reopening, all businesses in the county have new requirements.

According to the updated health order, issued October 5, all businesses must complete new social distancing protocols. The protocols are due within 14 days of the new order’s effect, which kicked in October 14.

Even businesses that have completed previous social distancing protocol documentation must complete new plans.

New protocols require confirmation of appropriate signage and worker training, among other aspects. Employers now also have updated requirements for any employees who test positive for COVID-19. Those include requiring the employee to stay home for 10 days and at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever.
