Fatal hit and run shocks in Cupertino

A scary situation early Sunday morning in Cupertino has authorities searching for answers, after a man was left for dead.

According to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s office, deputies arrived on scene at 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning at the intersection of N. Wolfe Rd. and Hwy. 280. On arrival, they located an unresponsive man lying near a damaged bicycle. The man had head injuries.

While the fire department and paramedics arrived, CPR resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. The man was pronounced dead at the scene at 3 a.m.

Deputies are investigating the situation and what led to the crash and fatal injuries.
