In a tradition dating more than 100 years, the annual holiday tree lighting ceremony in Santa Clara is rapidly approaching this week.
The event, which is set to feature ice skating, children’s crafts at Santa’s village, entertainment and music, and food options, is Friday, December 6.
Community performances and a meet and greet with Santa will keep family members of all ages entertained.
Given the difficulty of parking in the area with a large number of attendees expected, organizers hope residents will carpool, walk, or bicycle. There will be bike and stroller parking available on site.
The lighting, which runs from 5 to 8 p.m., is in Santa Clara’s Central Park, 969 Kiely Blvd.
Per city ordinances, pets are not allowed other than service animals.
