With fall weather ushering in generally cooler temperatures, many pools are preparing to close up for the season. While this weekend is forecast for high-80-degree days, Cupertino is making the end of summer weather with its Pooch Plunge.
The annual event, set for Saturday, October 5, gives dogs the chance to enjoy the pool before the end of the season. A $10 per dog fee will support the Best Friends Animal Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare and support of homeless animals.
Pooch Plunge is at the Blackberry Farm Pool, 21979 San Fernando Ave. in Cupertino, from 9 to 11 a.m.
A maximum of two dogs per handler is allowed, and owners are not allowed in the water with their dogs. Any dog that wants to participate must have proof of up-to-date vaccinations.
