June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate and show solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.
To kick off their Pride activities, a number of West Valley organizations are hosting a picnic Saturday, June 8, with food and activities to keep attendees of every age entertained.
Silicon Valley Pride and Fabulous Sunnyvale, along with the Billy DeFrank LGBTQ+ Community Center and the Human Rights Campaign are hosting the event at Baylands Park, 999 East Caribbean Dr., in Sunnyvale.
The group will be in the Bay Breeze Area 2 section of the park, which features views of south San Francisco Bay. The picnic is set for 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Parking is available at Baylands Park for $6, but space may be limited. Organizers recommend carpooling to save space and money.
While this event is happening during Pride Month, Silicon Valley’s main Pride events – including the parade in San Jose – will take place in late August.
