The second annual Day on the Lake event in Los Gatos is set for Saturday, June 8, and organizers are expecting high attendance.
Organized by Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and the Valley Medical Center Foundation, Day on the Lake provides accessible water sports activities for area residents with disabilities and their families.
This year’s planned activities include accessible kayaking, accessible Outrigger canoes, pedal boats, and a number of food, music, and craft tables. Local non-profit service providers will also be attending to discuss the resources they have available for the disabled community.
Held on Vasona Reservoir, Day on the Lake is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. While organizers have provided notice that all slots for the kayaking and canoeing activities are full, the resource fair and land-based activities remain open for all. Caregivers or family members can join in the activities.
To attend Day on the Lake in Los Gatos, enter Vasona Lake County Park, 333 Blossom Hill Rd., through the main entrance and head to the park’s Boat Center Area. There are no park fees for cars with a disabled parking placard.
