Students encouraged to participate in County Poetry Contest

The Santa Clara County Library District is hosting a Teen Poetry Contest for middle and high school students in the County.

There will one winner from each library chosen for students in grades 6-8 and students in grades 9-12. Participants must submit a maximum of three 30 line original poems, printed or typed to be considered.

Poems will be judged based on grade level, original content, style, vocabulary and creative expression. Winners will recieved a $50.00 gift card and the winning poem will be entered into a national contest held by Voice of Youth Advocates later in the year.

Poems can be submitted with an entry form at the library or online here. The last day to submit will be April 30.
