Cupertino students named winners of county poetry contest

SCCLD has announced the winners of the 2018 Teen Poetry Contest.SCCLD has announced the winners of the 2018 Teen Poetry Contest.

Students Anusikha Halder (Monta Vista High School) and Grace Wong (The King’s Academy) have been named the Cupertino Library winners of Santa Clara County Library District’s Teen Poetry contest. 

There were two winners per each library in Santa Clara County (Campbell, Los Altos, Cupertino, Milpitas, Saratoga, Gilroy and Morgan Hill) and each winner’s poem has been posted on the SCCLD’s website for viewing. 

Wong, an eighth grader, won for her piece, “The Flag of Our Nation,” while Halder, an 11th grader, won for “Cast of Characters.”

Both poems can be accessed here, along with works of winning students from other libraries.
