What’s the state of internet speed in the Cupertino community?
That is essentially what the City’s Technology, Information, and Communication Commission wants to know. The commission is asking residents to take an online survey and share information about their internet speed and usage.
The survey is available on the City website through a web portal called Open City Hall. Residents can take the survey through the end of March. As of Feb. 11, 60 people have responded.
Questions are about bandwidth, types of internet use, number of household devices used, and more. The commission wants to know if there areas in the city that lack a reasonable service, or have no service at all.
The survey data will “provide valuable information on the availability of high-speed internet in our community from the community’s perspective,” according to the commission.
