Cupertino Union School District to launch Mandarin Preschool Program

The Cupertino Union School District is launching a new preschool, CuperDoodle Mandarin Immersion Preschool, set to open in August.

The preschool program is scheduled to start in the Fall with one classroom at Sedgwick Elementary School and two classrooms at John Muir Elementary School. CuperDoodle will offer a Mandarin Immersion program once 22 students register. 

The registration deadline is July 20 at Muir Elementary School Preschool Room 30, 6560 Hanover Drive, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

If enrollment exceeds the required 22 students, a “priority-based lottery” will be held and parents will be notified by Monday, July 23 at 6 p.m. about whether or not their child has been enrolled. 

The CuperDoodle Preschool will teach Traditional Mandarin, where teachers will use a minimum of 50-percent Mandarin throughout the day, according to the CUSD website.
