Students from local high schools and middle schools are invited to participate in the Cupertino Rotary Club‘s third annual poetry contest.
Students from grades 9-12 who attend Homestead, Lynbrook, Monta Vista, Fremont High, and Cupertino high schools are eligible to submit poems, as well as students grade 6-8 from Kennedy, Miller, Hyde, Lawson, McAuliffe and Cupertino middle schools. The top three winners of the contest will win $100, $75 and $50.
The topic of the poetry contest is “Service above Self,” reflecting the “Rotary’s core values of service, fellowship, diversity, integrity, and leadership,” according to the contest flyer.
The reading time should be under two minutes for participating students and the submission deadline is June 21. The three winners will be announced on July 1 and an awards ceremony will be held in their honor on July 25.
