Fremont Union High School District (FUHSD) was named the 19th best of 474 school districts in California and the fourth best in Santa Clara County, according to a 2018 K-12 ranking released by Niche.com last week. FUHSD earned an A-plus grade in academics and college preparation, an A in teachers, and B-plus grades in diversity, clubs and activities.

Not to be ignored, the Cupertino Union School District also received high marks, listing an overall A-grade due to high performing stats in academics, teachers, and health and safety.

Niche.com assigns a standardized score for a set of key factors, such as academics, resources, food and sports, among other details. Each factor is then weighted based on importance before an overall score is calculated. School districts are ranked numerically based on their total score and assigned grades.

The announcement included rankings for the best elementary, middle, and high schools in the country based on data from the U.S. Department of Education including test scores and user ratings. The grading aims to help families find schools and neighborhoods across the country that are the best fit for their needs.
