Cupertino’s City Council is hosting the third panel of speakers in its “Creating Community Together Speaker Series 2017” on Thursday, August 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Participants are invited to hear from a panel of housing experts as they discuss the current issues facing housing in the greater Silicon Valley area, statewide, and nationally.
A hotly debated topic throughout the peninsula since the tech boom, housing costs have increased significantly in Cupertino over the last few decades. The City is supporting this panel in an effort to become better informed and allow citizens to learn more about challenges involved in city planning and discuss realistic solutions that could benefit the community.
In July, the City hosted two previous panels, which provided an initial discussion of the workings of city planning including change, growth and planning and a second panel addressing the state of the retail economy.
The Housing Speaker Panel will be held at Cupertino Community Hall, 10350 Torre Ave. All panels will be webcast and posted to the City of Cupertino website.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information on the Speaker Series and upcoming panels, visit www.Cupertino.org/speakerseries2017
