The Santa Clara Fire Department (SCFD) is hosting meetings to gather public input on how it can best serve and protect the community. Feedback, comments, and concerns voiced during these meetings will contribute to the development of SCFD’s 5-year strategic plan.

SCFD will hold the final meeting of the series on October 12 from 6pm to 7:30pm. Attendees must RSVP by Friday, October 7. Community members can RSVP for free through the Eventbrite invite.

The session will be hosted in-person at the SCFD Training Center on 1900 Walsh Ave. Light refreshments and sandwiches will be provided.

A Strategic Plan is drafted every five years in accordance with the guidelines set by the Commission on Fire Accreditation. The community-driven process challenges members of SCFD to examine their values and beliefs while interacting with residents. It also gives each firefighter a role in developing the long-term goals and direction of the organization.

The 2017 to 2021 Strategic Plan is available for public review here. You can learn more about the Santa Clara Fire Department by visiting the department’s website.
