Bomb threats prompt evacuations at two South Bay high schools

Students and faculty were evacuated from St. Francis High School in Mountain View and Presentation High School in San Jose after an unidentified person made separate bomb threats to both campuses on Tuesday afternoon on October 5.

According to Mountain View police, the threat was made at St. Francis just before 1 p.m. and evacuations were made while police responded to the campus. All students were reunited with their parents at Cuesta Park following the evacuation.

San Jose police reported that someone calling from the same phone number made the bomb threat to Presentation High School just before 2 p.m., also prompting police response and evacuation of the schools’ campus.

Both police departments have assured that neither of the campuses are in danger and early indications lead them to believe that the threats were deceitful, according to reports.
