After losing so many events last year to the pandemic, the Bay Area is slowly getting back on schedule – and back together. Below is a select list of various 2021 Pride Month events and experiences taking place this June in honor of the LGBTQ+ community. Have an event to add to the list? Send us a note at newstips@cupertinotoday.com.

In Cupertino, residents can check out the newly installed rainbow stripe across Stevens Creek Boulevard at Finch Avenue. The City installed the crosswalk to express that everyone, regardless of gender identity, is welcome in Cupertino. The pavement stripe is 12 inches wide and easily visible to pedestrians walking by.

Additionally, Cupertino is hosting a Pride flag raising ceremony in Civic Plaza on June 15 at 10 a.m. The community is invited to help raise the rainbow flag that will stay raised for the rest of June.

Silicon Valley Pride is bringing back their monthly Drag Brunch on June 20th at SoFa Market in San Jose from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The event will feature “over-the-top drag performances, bottomless mimosas from Fountainhead and brunch specials from your favorite SoFa Market eateries.”

They also plan to host their annual LGBTQ+ Pride Parade and Festival later this summer, on August 28-29.

For the entire month of June, Eureka! in Cupertino is selling a Pride Party cocktail and donating $1 from every cocktail purchase to The Trevor Project. The cocktail features vodka, pineapple, lemon juice, and finished with sparkling wine.

CoastPride and Beach Break Entertainment are hosting a drive-in movie showing of “A Star is Born” on June 18 at 9:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Pillar Church in Half Moon Bay. Attendees are allowed to arrive early and tailgate prior to the movie. All proceeds will benefit CoastPride.

Even though the iconic San Francisco Pride Parade has been canceled this year, there are still many ways the city is celebrating, including movie screenings at Oracle Arena this weekend. Visit here for a full calendar of SF Pride events.
