As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to render logistical planning and community gatherings impossible, events have to keep adjusting.
The latest is Cupertino’s Shakespeare in the Park, which is transitioning to Free Shakespeare at Home. It is all part of the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival’s switch to virtual.
Performances this year of ‘King Lear’ will utilize Zoom and OBS technology. According to organizers, the virtual format will allow for pre- and post-show engagement with audiences. Moderated live chats, where audience members can ask questions, are also likely.
The free shows run each Saturday and Sunday for three weeks beginning July 15.
- Saturday, July 25 – 7 p.m.
- Sunday, July 26 – 4 p.m.
