A pair of events this weekend in Sunnyvale is putting health and wellness at the forefront.
Both events are Sunday, February 2, in the Sunnyvale Library, 665 W. Olive St.
Starting at 1 p.m. in the Library’s Program Room is a Women and Family Health Fair. With resources and information to improve quality of life, the event will feature health screenings, snacks, and opportunities to hear from a wide range of local service providers. It runs through 3:30 p.m.
According to organizers, participating organizations including the following groups: Alum Rock Counseling Center, American Heart Association Bay Area, CHAC, City of Sunnyvale Youth and Family Resources (CNC), Community Child Care Council, Community Health Partnership, County of Santa Clara Office of LGBTQ Affairs, Healthier Kids Foundation, Kara, MAITRI, Nextdoor Solutions to Domestic Violence, On Lok, Pars Equality Center, Santa Clara Family Health Plan, Santa Clara WIC Program, Second Harvest Food Bank, Sunnyvale Community Services, Sunnyvale Public Library, YWCA.
Beginning at 2 p.m. in the Adult Fiction Room is a Health Eating and Exercise workshop, led by health educator Aurora Cepeda. She will be sharing tips and tricks for exercising and nutrition. Information will be shared in both English and Spanish. It ends at 3 p.m.
