Sunnyvale workshop to teach plant skills

With spring coming quickly, it is never too early to think about planting strategies. And, for house and office plants, the challenge of shade-loving plants is an eternal question.

Sunnyvale is set to host an event this weekend answering those questions and more, with Master Gardener Barbara Fraser on hand.

Fraser will specifically address how to handle shade-loving plants, particularly how to grow ferns and flowering plants in shaded gardens or lower-light spaces.

Weather permitting, there will be a tour of the Sunnyvale Demonstration Garden. Friends of Sunnyvale Public Library are the sponsors of these events.

The workshop is free to attend and is set for Sunnyvale Library’s Program Room, 665 W. Olive Ave.

It runs from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 11. For more details, visit the Sunnyvale city calendar here.
