A major festival is coming the streets of Mountain View this weekend, with weather forecast to be perfect for outdoor activities.
The 48th Mountain View Art and Wine Festival will occupy Castro Street between El Camino Real and Evelyn Ave. in Downtown Mountain View both Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8.
According to festival details, the event will feature more than 500 artists and craftmakers with a number of original pieces, handcrafted works, live music, and more.
Food, beer, wine, and other drinks will help keep attendees fed and hydrated. A kids park with numerous activities including a rock climbing wall, face painting, and glitter tattoos are sure to bring smiles to young members of your family.
Numerous streets around the festival will be congested throughout the weekend, and organizers are encouraging attendees to walk, carpool, or ride bikes. Free bicycle parking will be available at the corner of Castro and Church Streets. VTA also runs a number of rapid transit and bus lines through Mountain View.
Car parking is free on streets and plazas near the site. Information on a number of paid parking options can be seen on the event’s Facebook page here.
Organizers advise that pets should not be brought to the festival, given the large crowds expected.
The Art and Wine Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. It is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
