National Night Out coming to West Valley communities Tuesday

Each year, communities across the country join their local law enforcement agencies for National Night Out, building partnerships and providing family friendly events.

National Night Out occurs each year on the first Tuesday in August, which is August 6th this year.

Across the West Valley, a number of cities are participating in the program, with local events scheduled by neighborhoods and community groups. According the National Association of Town Watch, which organizes National Night Out, more than 38 million people in 16,000 communities across all fifty states have participated in these events.

National Night Out gatherings generate support for law enforcement and build neighborhood spirit, while heightening crime awareness prevention efforts.

In California, 421 cities have registered events this year, including in our area San Jose, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Cupertino, Campbell, Los Altos, Los Gatos, Santa Clara, as well as Santa Clara County.
