The City of Cupertino has a vacancy on the Housing Commission and is seeking a replacement with ties to a financial institution.

The commission has five members appointed by the City Council to four-year terms. According to the City, the commission “assists the housing division in developing housing policies and strategies; recommends policies for implementation and monitoring of affordable housing projects; helps identify sources of funding for affordable housing; and performs other advisory functions authorized by the council.”

The vacancy is for a commission member who is a “financial representative” who must represent a financial institution that is located in Cupertino. Only applicants who meet this criteria are eligible

The commission vacancy occurred when Commissioner Poonam Goyal resigned. Whoever is selected to sit on the commission would serve until it expires on Jan. 20, 2022.

Housing Commission meetings are held at 9 a.m. The second Thursday of the month at City Hall, Conference Room C. Current members include: Sue Bose, John Zhao, Connie Cunningham, and Nina Daruwalla.
