Workshop will help parents better communicate with their teen

Parents can learn how to better communicate with their teenager at Orenda Parent Programs event.

Orenda Parent Programs is putting on a free event for parents where they can learn how to better communicate with their teenager.

The workshop on Nov. 18 is titled “How to Talk to Teens so Teens Listen.” It will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Union Church, located at 20900 Stevens Creek Blvd. in Cupertino.

Facilitators will give parents tips on how rebuild, reconnect and improve their relationship with their teens. They will introduce “some uncommon perspectives around how to approach teens,” according to organizers.

There will be small group discussions, and panel events. The workshop will focus on building motivation, connections, confidence and trust in teens. There will be sections on how to manage time on phones and computers and setting up family rules.
