The Cupertino Library is playing host to an informational workshop aimed at helping people start their own business.

On Oct. 17, you can drop by the library to participate in “Simple Steps for Starting Your Business: Business Concepts.” The workshop, which is part of a series, will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The library is at the Cupertino Civic Center, 10800 Torre Ave. Registration is not necessary.

According to organizers from Silicon Valley Score, sessions have been “designed by successful entrepreneurs.” This week’s workshop focuses on business concepts and step-by-step guidance in researching ideas, markets and the competition. Organizers add that at the end of the workshop, the client will be able to “identify their target markets, describe their products and services, and collect key competitive information to support their feasibility plan.”

Future workshops are also scheduled for Oct. 24, Oct. 31 and Nov. 7. Those focus on marketing plans, financial projections and funding sources, respectively.
