Cupertino residents, businesses and city officials are springing into action amid the devastating Wine Country fires, collecting food and supplies and — most importantly — sharing information on the best ways fellow community members can be helpful at this difficult time.
On Thursday, city officials released a guide on how local residents can help. The guide recommends signing up with the Red Cross to volunteer, donating to www.redwoodcu.org/northbayfirerelief as well as the GoFundMe pages for California fire relief and Napa and Sonoma County Fire Relief.
Food donations are welcome at Food pantries of Napa County, Food pantries of Yuba County, and Food pantries of Sonoma County.
Several local businesses and individuals are doing their part. The Safeway Foundation is hosting an in-store fundraiser to help people and communities affected by the California Wildfires. Meanwhile, Cupertino Optometry is donating glasses and trial contacts to victims in need.
Cupertino Electric will be matching employee donations to benefit those affected by the fires.
