Triple-digit heat expected in Cupertino for Labor Day weekend

An excessive heat warning has been issued for the Labor Day weekend in Northern California cities including Cupertino.

A strong high pressure returning to the region is expected to bring Cupertino temperatures to the 100s this Friday, Sept. 2 and Saturday, Sept. 3, according to the National Weather Service. The Excessive Heat Watch, which spans along the coast from Santa Rosa to Big Sur, is in effect from Friday, Aug. 31 at noon until Sept. 4 at 8 p.m.

According to NWS, those with outdoor plans and groups sensitive to the heat like children and the elderly are urged to take precautions, such as drinking plenty of water, staying out of the sun, visiting air-conditioned locations to cool down, checking up on neighbors and never leaving kids or pets in vehicles.
