Silicon Valley Reads kicks off 2023 season in Cupertino

Silicon Valley Reads and the Commonwealth Club are kicking off their program’s 20th season with a special in-person and live-streamed author event on Jan 26 at 7p.m. at De Anza College.

The event will take place at the Performing Arts Center Theater, and will also be live-streamed to the Commonwealth Club of Silicon Valley. Click here to register for the free, in-person event and here to register for the online event.

For the past two decades, the Silicon Valley Reads program has brought folks of all ages together with books centered on focused themes that resonate with the community. This year’s theme is “Journey to New Beginnings.” The event will also include a panel of authors including Tommy Orange (There There), Amanda Skenandore (The Second Life of Mirielle West), and Kai Harris (What the Fireflies Knew). Authors will be available to sign books after the panel.

Attendees are also invited to view an exhibit featuring South Bay artists whose work similarly embodies the theme of “new beginnings” at the Euphrat Museum of Art. The exhibit will be open from 6p.m. to 7p.m. before the program, and after the program until 9 p.m.
