The Santa Clara County Library District (SCCLD) is kicking off its Distinguished Author Series on Wednesday, September 14 with Emmy Award-winning journalist Emily Chang.

The series revolves around three writers whose expertise ranges from the future of tech to the connections between health, food, and agriculture.

The first to be featured is TV anchor and author Emily Chang, who reports on global technology and media companies, startups, and the future of business. Her 2018 exposé Brotopia: Breaking Up the Boys’ Club of Silicon Valley discusses issues surrounding gender gaps in Silicon Valley.

The conversation will be moderated by Santa Clara County Supervisor and Library JPA Governing Board Member Joe Simitian, who has worked on legislation regarding data breach disclosure and online privacy protection.

The Distinguished Author Series is free and open to the public. Wednesday’s event will take place at Campbell Heritage Theater at 7 p.m.
