Northwest YMCA to host community blood drive with Stanford Blood Center

The Northwest YMCA in Cupertino will host a community blood drive with Stanford Blood Center on Wednesday, June 29 from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 20803 Alves Drive.

Stanford Blood Center is accepting all blood types and making donor safety a top priority.

“Blood donors are essential to the health and safety of our community. You never know when you or someone you know could need blood,“ said Phillip Martin, Stanford Blood Center Account Manager. “In critical situations, it’s the blood that has already been donated that saves lives at a moment’s notice. That’s why we are asking our community members to step up and come out to the Northwest YMCA blood drive. In just one hour, you could donate enough blood to help multiple patients in need.”

Those planning to donate are advised to eat well and arrive hydrated and with their donor ID. If you do not have a donor ID, please bring a valid state-issued ID. As a special thank you, anyone who donates from June 1 to June 30 will automatically be entered to win one of eight pairs of premium San Francisco Giants tickets.

Note that walk-in availability may be limited. Donors are encouraged to make an appointment by visiting stanford.io/3QmtiHn or by calling (888) 723-7831.
