The City of Cupertino announced Matt Morley as its new Director of Public Works last week. Morley will assume his new role on April4.
For nearly a decade, Morley has been serving as Parks and Public Works Director for the Town of Los Gatos, where he has managed all operations and capital programs, such as facilities and fleet maintenance, real estate transactions and planning, and more. Previously, he worked for the City of San Jose in various leadership roles.
“We are delighted to welcome Matt to the City of Cupertino,” said City Manager Jim Throop. “I feel confident that our community will benefit from a seasoned Public Works Director such as Matt.”
Morley is a South Bay native with degrees from UC Davis and University of Phoenix.
“I am excited to join the exceptional leadership team in Cupertino and to help expand on the amazing work that the Public Works Department provides for the residents of the community,” stated Morley. “Cupertino is known in the Bay Area as a high-performing city, and it is an honor to participate collaboratively with the City Council, residents, and City staff in delivering our services.”
