Minimum wage raised as South Bay cost of living continues to increase

As we settle into the New Year, minimum wage increases have gone into effect on both the local and state level.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2022, cities across the South Bay implemented the raise in response to the steadily-growing cost of living in the area. Mountain View and Sunnyvale lead the Santa Clara County cities for highest minimum wages, as both enacted a $17.10 minimum.

Here’s a list of pay changes you’ll be seeing in the South Bay.

Mountain View

The Mountain View minimum wage will increase from $16.30 to $17.10, effective Jan. 1, 2022. For more information, click here.

The Sunnyvale minimum wage will increase from $16.30 per hour to $17.10, effective Jan. 1, 2022. For more information, click here.

The Cupertino minimum wage will increase from $15.65 per hour to $16.40, effective Jan. 1, 2022. For more information, click here.

Los Altos

The Los Altos minimum wage will increase from $15.65 per hour to $16.40, effective Jan. 1, 2022. For more information, click here.

The Palo Alto minimum wage will increase from $15.65 per hour to $16.45, effective Jan. 1, 2022. For more information, click here.
