Summer 2021 events you won’t want to miss

Gilroy Garlic Festival

The 2021 Gilroy Garlic Festival will take place over the weekends of July 23 –25 and July 30 –August 1.

This year’s festival will feature a variety of events, both in-person and virtual, that showcase the distinctive food from Gourmet Alley at a series of drive-thru events at Gilroy Presbyterian Church, a Farm-to-Table dinner at Fortino’s Winery, and a Golf Tournament at Gilroy Golf Course.

Santa Clara County Fair (virtual)

The 2021 Santa Clara County Fair will take place from July 30– August 7.

Despite COVID-19 restrictions beginning to ease, the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds Management Corporations (SCCFMC) has announced they will hold the 2021 Santa Clara County Fair virtually rather than in person this Summer.

The theme for this year’s fair is Ag-Venture. The 2021 Santa Clara County Fair will showcase youth and adult competitive exhibits in a self-guided virtual tour.  In addition, SCCFMC will host youth livestock to be evaluated for market readiness July 30th – August 6, 2021 followed by the hybrid virtual junior livestock auction on August 7, 2021.

San Jose Jazz Summer Fest

This San Jose Jazz Summer Fest has returned and will be one of the first significant live music events in the Bay Area. The Summer Fest will take place August 13–15 at the Sobrato Organization Main Stage in the Plaza de César Chavez in San Jose.

The three day fest will feature great live music, food, fun and being together with family and friends. You can expect performances by a mix of international stars, emerging artists and local gems playing Jazz, blues, R&B, New Orleans, Latin and more.

Hot San Jose Nights

The popular air, car, and music show will return to Reid-Hillview Airport in San Jose on August 28. 

Organizer Mike Hennessy says the charity-driven event will honor first responders and COVID survivors.
