The Santa Clara County Fire District will hold a community forum on public safety this Thursday, January 21 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
Representatives from the Santa Clara County Fire Department will preview their 2021 virtual community education and preparedness programs including:
- Adults 50+ online injury prevention, safety, and wellness classes
- Fire safety for young children, fun and interactive learning LIVE and online
- Wildfire resilience webinars and virtual community meetings
- Emergency preparedness, including Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) online training
The wildfire resilience meeting is especially important as much of the Bay Area experienced powerful winds this week heightening fire concerns. On January 19, Pacific Gas and Electric Company said that weather stations within PG&E’s service areas recorded gust readings exceeding 80 mph in Contra Costa, Tuolumne, Kern, Santa Clara and Calaveras counties.
