Sacred Heart Community Service supporting Bay Area families in need this holiday season

Sacred Heart Community Service is helping local families in need this holiday season through their annual holiday program.

This month, Sacred Heart will distribute more than 6,000 gift bags and over 3,500 holiday food boxes to local families.

Gift bags include a $50 gift card for each child in the family 17 years of age or younger. Holiday food boxes contain non-perishable items, vegetables, fruit, bread, and a turkey—roughly 50 pounds of food which is equivalent to $100 worth of groceries.

Sacred Heart’s San Jose distribution center at 1381 S. First Street is open daily from 9am to 4pm. While the gift bag pre-registration list is closed for this year, food box distribution will be available at the same location on Monday, December 21st from 9am to 4pm; Tuesday, December 22nd from 9am to 6pm; and Wednesday, December 23rd from 9am to 12pm. The food box distribution is walk up only and community members are advised to bring something to transport their food.

Sacred Heart’s holiday program is made possible through the support of community members, and the organization is still accepting both donations and volunteers. To help support Sacred Heart’s holiday program, click here.
