The City of Cupertino is hosting its City Council Swearing-In Ceremony on Thursday, December 3 at 6:45 pm. At the virtual meeting, the City will install new officials as well as elect the new mayor and vice mayor.
This year’s city council race generated nearly 45,000 votes with former Fremont Union High School District Trustee Hung Wei and Planning Commission Chair Kitty Moore garnering the most votes. Mayor Steven Scharf and Councilmember Rod Sinks are closing out their terms and this will be their final city council meeting. To register for the City Council Swearing-In Ceremony, click here.
The recruitment period to serve as an appointed Cupertino City Commissioner are also underway. Residents are invited to a virtual Commissioners Series to learn about each commission from current commissioners. The series is hosted by Councilmember Liang Chao and will feature representatives from the Library Commission, Audit Committee, Planning Commission, Housing Commission, Fine Arts Commission and Bicycle/Pedestrian Commission.
The meeting dates for the series are:
- Friday, December 4, 12pm to 1pm with representatives from the Library Commission and Audit Committee
- Friday, December 11, 12pm to 1pm with representatives from the Planning Commission and Housing Commission
- Friday, December 18, 12pm to 1pmwith representatives from the Fine Arts Commission and Bicycle/Pedestrian Commission
