While the holidays might look a little different this year due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, there are still many ways to celebrate the season in a safe, socially-distanced manner. San Jose’s annual Christmas in the Park holiday celebration is taking a new form but keeping its most important traditions.

Instead of taking place in downtown San Jose’s Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park, the event is pivoting to a drive-thru holiday experience at History Park in San Jose. Guests will be able to enjoy whimsical displays, hundreds of decorated Christmas trees and some new event features from the comfort of their own cars. And yes, Santa Claus will be making a guest appearance.

Attendees must purchase a ticket in advance at a specified time slot to help support this year’s event, ranging from $10 to $20 per car depending on the selected time. Guests can also sponsor a family to attend via the Buy One Give One program; sponsored tickets will be distributed by local charities.

The drive-thru event begins on Friday, November 27th and lasts until Sunday, January 1st. The annual Toys for Tots ‘Stuff the Bus’ toy drive at Christmas in the Park takes place  on Saturday, December 5 to 9am to 3pm.
