Political forum for teens Friday evening as ballots arrive region-wide

Cupertino City offices closed

With voters across the region receiving their mail-in ballots this week, young people are looking for ways to engage.

The Youth and Teen Commissions of Cupertino, Campbell, and Saratoga are harnessing that energy this Friday. Together, the groups are hosting a virtual ‘Pizza and Politics’ event.

Young people can learn how to get involved and ask questions of local elected officials in their area. Kicking off at 6 p.m. on October 9, the event will feature a number of local leaders.

Cupertino Mayor Steven Scharf, Saratoga Mayor Howard Miller, and Campbell Mayor Susan Landry are all set to speak.

Following that, Assemblymember Evan Low and his 2020 election opponent Carlos Cruz will hold a mock debate and answer questions. Candidates for State Senate District 15, County Supervisor Dave Cortese and Ann Ravel will also answer questions at the event.

Cupertino will livestream the entire event on its Facebook page here or its YouTube page here.
