Santa Clara County is building on its early season flu shot events with two more events set for Saturday. The two events are free to the public, with no appointments needed, regardless of immigration status.
County organizers say that staff will still be administering shots even with poor air quality in the region.
Santa Clara County Health Officer Dr. Sara Cody recently got a flu shot on camera, highlighting its importance.
“This year is especially important, because as we know, not only if flu season starting anytime but we also have lots and lots of SARS-COV-2,” Cody said, referring to the formal name of COVID-19.
Cody also reiterated the need for mask wearing and social distancing, which helps fight COVID-19 and flu spread.
The events set for this Saturday, October 3, both run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

- Available for those 3 years and older. Children from 3-17 must have a guardian present.
- Valley Health Center Milpitas, 143 N. Main St., Milpitas, 95035
- Available for those 12 years and older. Children 12-17 must have a guardian present.
